Evie Zambetakis works on energy security geopolitics at The Brookings Institution. Evie holds a M.A. in International Security with a focus on energy security from the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University, and a B.A. in Political Science with a focus on international relations from Rice University, where she conducted research on energy issues for the Energy Department at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy. Evie has worked in public diplomacy and public affairs for then Ambassador Nicholas R. Burns at the United States Embassy in Athens, Greece, and for the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs at the Pentagon. She most recently served as Special Assistant to the Ambassador of Greece to the United States and conducted research on Greece’s energy security strategy in South East Europe. Energy security research areas include: Caspian Basin, Former Soviet Union, Caucasus, Russia-Europe, China, Africa, nuclear proliferation, NG/LNG, pipeline politics.
