Will Straw is the Associate Director for Economic Growth at American Progress. He works closely with Senior Fellows Laura Tyson and Tom Kalil on innovation, technology, productivity, and their contribution to long-term growth. He will also contribute to the CAP work on globalization and international economic policy.

Previously, Will served as a senior policy advisor on regulatory reform for Her Majesty's Treasury. There he analyzed the economic effect of new policies and regulations and prepared Ministers for the Cabinet Committees where these were discussed. He also served in the Treasury press office leading on enterprise and growth, financial services, and international development. Prior to this, he was president of the Oxford University Student Union where successfully campaigned for the reintroduction of the student grant for poorer students.

Will holds a B.A. in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University and a master of public administration from Columbia University where he was a US-UK Fulbright Scholar. Will also blogs on American politics for ProgressOnline, a British think tank.
